Element of Design: A shape is defined as a two or more dimensional area that stands out from the space next to or around it due to a defined or implied boundary.

Element of Design- Shape: Shape is a two dimesional area confined by a actual line or implied line. In drawing shapes are created when the ends of lines are joined to enclose areas.
